A New Site for an Old Friend
He’s retired and uses a corded phone. That kind of old (Ah, he knows I like to slag him.)
If you need a writer—though he says he doesn’t want to work—you should talk to Dave. David Holahan has been published in The New York Times, The Boston Globe, The Washington Post, The Providence Journal, The Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, Christian Science Monitor, USA Today, Hartford Courant, and a bunch of other papers he made me find mastheads for. He’s also reviewed over 100 books and read all the words so we don’t have to.
“It’s too late to stop now, have been writing stuff since 1973.” And most of it is good. Dave has the best words. I even read a couple of them.
This site was a treat for me because it was a chance to focus on type. Since Dave is a writer, his words are the most important part of the page. The site is built using Kirby, like mine, and he was able to pick up the backend editing fairly quickly. Guess you can teach an old writer new tricks.
Check him out and read some of his words. I promise he’s not a horse’s ass.
